About LinuxPort

Hello, I'm Apple Head, the creator of LinuxPort.

LinuxPort was born out of a very real need I noticed in the Linux community—especially among new users and curious developers. As someone who has explored Linux deeply, I came to realize that although Linux has grown immensely over the years, most people only know about a handful of distributions. Ubuntu, Fedora, maybe Kali Linux—these are typically the only names that circulate in beginner guides and mainstream articles.

But the Linux ecosystem is far more diverse than that. There are hundreds of distributions, each built with a unique philosophy, use-case, and user experience in mind. Some are tailored for beginners, others for developers, security professionals, creators, and even privacy advocates. Yet, many of these incredible projects remain underappreciated or completely unknown to the wider public.

That’s why I created LinuxPort.

This website is designed as a centralized, beautifully crafted platform to help users explore the full breadth of the Linux world. Rather than being just another comparison blog or a ranked list, LinuxPort is a clean, ad-free space where anyone can browse and access official websites of major Linux distributions with ease.

Why LinuxPort Exists

The motivation behind LinuxPort is simple:

LinuxPort fills this gap by offering a visual portal to the most prominent Linux distros—curated, categorized, and easy to navigate.

What You'll Find on LinuxPort

A Message From Me

LinuxPort is not backed by a corporation. There are no sponsors, no affiliates, and no agenda here. I built this as a personal project—an initiative to give back to the community and support open-source exploration.

As Linux continues to evolve, so will this site. I plan to update it regularly and include new distributions as they emerge. If you find a distro missing or have suggestions for improving the platform, I welcome your feedback.

In the end, LinuxPort is about empowering users to make informed choices and explore the wide universe of Linux with clarity and confidence.

Thank you for visiting,
— Apple Head
